Junior League of Louisville
JLL, an organization dedicated to improving the community through the effective
action and leadership of trained volunteers, came to us for a new website and
intranet solution.
Although the Junior League already had an existing web site the organization
found it very difficult to maintain. Work on the website had to be done using
complicated web-development tools, resulting in a website that was often broken
or hopelessly out-of-date.
In addition the JLL was looking for a central place that Organization members
could go to download forms, check the Organization calendar and keep up with
other Members.
We responded with a solution that included:

A professionally designed web site open to the general public. The primary
functions of the site are to communicate JLL's ongoing work in the community
and to attract new Junior League members.

A members only web site accessible to members with a secure login name and
password. Members can log into the web site to browse the organization's
document library, look up photos and contact information in the members
directory and keep up with JLL's busy volunteering calendar.

An Administrative site accessible to members of JLL's Internet Technology
Committe, that allows the organization to manage every aspect of all sites with
an easy to use browser based toolset. Administrators can edit the content of
the Public site, upload and edit documents in the document library, manage the
member directory and events calendar. A reporting engine provides up to the
minute statistics on hits on the Public Site and visits to the Member's Only
Site.
By coupling our Site Management Component Suite with Reliable Hosting and
Custom Graphic Design Services we were able to provide a solution that was
affordable and very easy to maintain. The reusable Site Management Component
Suite allows us to split the cost of the very robust feature set among all of
our customer sites, while still providing web sites that very much fit each
client company or Organization.
As we continue to build on this component set we are able to continue to offer
new web site features to our existing customers at prices that are much lower
than typical custom build web sites.
In addition our custom development services address on-going needs that are
specific to each organization. For Example: While we rolled out the Junior
League of Louisville site in November of 2001, we recently implemented a custom
solution that synchronizes JLL's member database with their proprietary
database located in their offices, eleviating the need to cross-populate two
diseparate systems.
